“I have tripped over this negative habit many times.” True.
“You have the power to change.” insists Truth.

“All things are made new in Christ Jesus, and I can live a life void of anger.” asserts Truth.
There are things about us – our past, our upbringing, our lives that are absolutely true.
You may have had a difficult childhood. You may have been rejected, abandoned, abused. You may have been hurt or deeply wounded emotionally.
Recognize and own what is true about yourself, your past, your present. But move beyond what is true, and live in what is Truth.
What is Truth? God’s Word is Truth.
…if you continue in my Word… you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32
Jesus states in John 17:17 “Sanctify [us] by Your truth, [because] your word is truth.” (brackets mine)
Take a look at what Truth says about us, about who we are:
- I am redeemed, I am forgiven. Ephesians 1:7
- I am chosen. I am worthy. 1 Peter 2:9, Psalm 139:13-16
- I have peace. John 14:27
- I am clean, pure. John 15:3
- I am righteous. Philippians 3:9
- I am seated with Jesus Christ in heavenly places. Ephesians 2:6
- I live above the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2
- I have the power of Jesus within me. 2 Timothy 1:7
- I am more than a conqueror. Romans 8:31-39
This is Truth, my dear people.
May we live our lives in truth. There is true, then there is truth. Grab hold of that Truth and like Proverbs states:
Do not let kindness and truth leave you. Tie them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
Proverbs 3:3 NASB
