Two Truths and A Lie

You got up late this morning.
You didn’t get the laundry folded yesterday.
You’re a loser.

You didn’t spend time with God yesterday.
You binged on Netflix instead of reading the Bible.
God is upset with you now.

You lost your cool and yelled at the kids this morning.
Then you snapped at your spouse who was trying to help.
You’re a failure and unfit to parent.

Stop.
Wait. Think.
Do you pick up on the pattern here? Two truths and a lie.

So much of what we believe about ourselves is the lie within a group of truths. Our adversary, the Devil, is a master player of Two Truths and A Lie. He is the father of all lies.
And we don’t learn quickly, do we? We keep falling for the same stupid lies again and again.

You spoke out of turn yesterday.
Your words hurt that person.
You’re a fake and don’t deserve good friendships.

I experience trauma and/or abuse.
This has had significant effects on me.
God doesn’t love me because He didn’t protect me.

Two truths and a lie.
Take care with the thoughts that you allow to reside in your mind. It just might be a lie.
Lies we believe about ourselves, about God and other people change how we think, how we respond (or react) adding up to the complete sum of our lives.

Make sure your life isn’t built on a foundation of lies. Test the bricks and beams of your house (your life), eliminate the faulty ones and replace them with truth.
Truth of who God is.
Truth of who I am in Jesus.
The truth of others around me.
Jesus states in John 14:6
“I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

One lie has the power to tarnish a thousand truths.
