Are conspiracy theories true?
Yes and no.
According to Wikipedia, the definition of a conspiracy theory is:
An explanation for an event or situation that asserts the existence of a conspiracy by powerful and sinister groups, often political in motivation, when other explanations are more probable.
I believe every event, and the rulings of the world are controlled by powers beyond the human and physical realm. The apostle Paul states:
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:12 ESV
The kingdoms and rulers of this earth are only doing the bidding of these higher powers. We may think we have control of what happens, but we are more like pawns influenced by the higher powers. This does not negate the free will of humanity. We all have choices. We all make decisions. These evil forces can only operate where they have been given permission and authority from humans. Once authority has been handed over, we become slaves to Satan and do his bidding.
So yes, conspiracy theorists are correct in assuming that the world is controlled by a group of people (slaves to Satan) who are sinister in motive. These rulers are driven by greed, a lust for power, and the love of money. Satan has a very simple purpose: “To steal, kill, and destroy.” Any whom are his slaves will do likewise.
Does this mean all conspiracy theories are true? Such as: the landing on the moon is fake, 90% of our Science and History curriculum is a lie, the earth is flat, each president that was assassinated was about to expose the corruption of an elite group that controls the money of the world, etc.
Not necessarily. Some theories have shards of truth, but then some are simply unfounded. One is unable to prove it with either scientific or physical evidence. It is simply theory. An idea. A possibility. Amoral, neither right nor wrong. Certainly not worth your while to ‘try to figure out’. There are a million other worthwhile pursuits in which to engage the mind, heart, and soul.
The end of the matter: all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 ESV
For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.
