Being deceived is a mark of the unregenerate, Titus 3:3.
After salvation, we may stray from the truth at times, but the Bible makes it clear that the elect of God cannot be deceived to the extent of being finally lost. If God’s chosen ones could be deceived in such a way, God’s choice of them would be defeated, and that is not possible. All who are in Christ have been predestined, called, justified, and will eventually be glorified. Romans 8:30. They have been given to Christ; and of all those who have been given to Him, He will lose none. John 10:28
Romans chapter 8, beginning in verse 5, check this out: (Read the entire chapter)
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed it cannot.
…For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
You did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear…
We know that everything works together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Because those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son.
And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.
What do we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
What or who can separate us from the love of God?
Tribulation or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or death?
Absolutely not! For in all these things we are MORE than conquerors through him who loved us.
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Pretty darn simple, isn’t it? As sons of God, born in the Spirit, the chosen, or the elect, there is no way we can be separated from the love of God. Deception is not even a remote possibility.
The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways; but the folly of fools is deception.
